Pilates was originally developed by the late Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. He created exercises to transform his own body and to help soldiers rehabilitate from injuries sustained in the first World War. Pilates has evolved over the years and continues to be used for rehabilitation and relieving musculoskeletal pain. It remains popular as a form of general exercise and sports cross training. Pilates promotes optimal posture to create a body that is pain free and moves with ease. Each exercise consists of controlled, precise movements which dynamically stretch and strengthen muscles.
Pilates can be tailored for anyone, whether you are an experienced exerciser, recovering from injury, suffering from back pain or you would like to look, move and feel better.
